The basis for secure SAP operation is not only detailed monitoring and auditing but also the ability to evaluate and analyze this data.

A central component is the “ SAP Audit Log ”, which logs security-relevant events such as login attempts, user changes and authorization checks. It enables complete traceability and serves as the basis for security analyses and forensic investigations.

In addition, the “ SAP System Log ” provides system-wide information about events such as system errors, critical system changes or connection problems. These logs help to identify technical problems at an early stage and ensure the stability of the SAP landscape.

SAP compliance checks are also essential for complying with legal and internal company regulations. These check the configuration of the systems with regard to security standards and best practices, for example by checking the allocation of critical authorizations, compliance with password guidelines and the avoidance of unauthorized access.

automatics now integrates all patch files available in the download center based on the use case, filters them for relevance to the SAP system configurations in use and prepares them for the user.

This means you will never miss new SAP patches again. This integration saves you a lot of valuable time on preparation work and storing update packages, and let automatics do all the work.

NEAR ZERO DOWNTIME OPERATIONS FOR OS & HANA DB PATCHING IN CLUSTER ENVIRONMENTS

Patching the SAP HANA database and operating system in cluster environments requires careful planning to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.

When patching the SAP HANA DB in a cluster (HANA System Replication), the rolling update approach is carried out fully automatically by automatics. The patch is first applied to the secondary node in order to keep the primary instance available. After successful updating and testing on the secondary node, a takeover takes place and the patch is then installed on the previous primary node. This means that the system remains available largely without interruption.

Similar to SAP HANA DB patching, the operating system is updated in cluster environments in stages. First, the secondary node is patched and tested for stability. After successful validation, a takeover occurs and the patch is installed on the remaining node.

IBM i PLATFORM SUPPORT

With the complete support of the IBM i operating system, we complete the circle of consistent support of the various SAP supported operating systems and can now also fully serve customers with IBM i as the OS used.
